Gay Public Washrooms In Toronto

Memory Denied: Turkey and the Armenian genocide Photographs by Kathryn Jean Cook

This show was one of the most interesting I've seen lately: the case of photographs of American (really very good) Katrin Cook, reporters who visited Turkey, Armenia and other neighboring countries, retracing the same route of Armenian refugees who had escaped from the terrible genocide of 1914-1915 by the work of the "Young Turks", dissoliuzione political force born of the Ottoman Empire.

Here is the link from the site of the tunnel SanFedele . The exhibition is open from 16/11/2009 to 18/12/2009.

texts accompanying the photographs are beautiful, they speak of historical memory, "which serves the present and we can help to avoid the tragedies of history."
The exhibition is organized on two levels, and the pictures are really very striking: a white and black maliconico often, the intense colors , Contrasted, sometimes dreamy, emotionally taut course to strike the mind of the spectator, and not to forget and to remember past sad experience from the people harassed by a real piulizia ethnicity.

A series of photo-poems are definitely think it is easy to remain silent and admire the evocative effects.
The photograph shows the faces of now, routes, railways, mountains, city of angles (vafikli the only village in turkish territory inhabited by Armenians themselves).

The images were taken in 2003 and relatively recent. Let me clarify this point, there are images "historic" but a travel story of the photographer, so to speak. A "re-enactment not to forget" experienced in the field, by hi c is not part of Armenian culture, but try to understand it, live it

. I hit comuunque the fact that in Turkey or a part of journalists and the press, siding for anti-revisionist argument in defense of the memory of the Armenian people and the right to be protected, has unfortunately been subject to discrimination and threats.

Take the train and go right in the center of Milan and then it was worth the effort! I'm happy to show you some pictures of the show for no reason trying to infringe upon the rights of the images of talented Cook

!;)
