Knock Off Hobo Lauren

Green (E. Rohmer)

You hear often of the need for friendship and ties, to "group", socialize. It is a continuous trantran, here and there are always references to the desire to be together, the need to stand together. Happiness is a social duty, before a personal need, and honestly I've never seen anyone be so alone. All you remember him: the TV, film, book, people. And they have good reason. They have more than reason. I do not believe in a world of men and women each for his cock, m'inquieta the only idea. But it is often not their own fault, we are not responsible, and misanthropy is not even want to be alone, it's just the life that you put aside, and perhaps even more the difference between you and the others: different tastes, opposite characters, passions different, what excites them, you get bored, and vice versa. And so it is like to be there and not be, wish these "unions", this heat, but do not know catch. Delphine takes it the distance for two reasons: one because he is afraid to get burned, because he feels two of being quite dissimilar from the others. Delphine alone. But as I said is not a desired solitude, sought after, not a lifestyle choice, it's just lack of understanding, is just a set of issues that take away from the group, which makes foreign to them. I do not understand and you do not understand them. Maybe try the same thing (happiness?), But unlike the others she can not explain, can not figure out how to do to get there and probably did not even want to do it. Certainly does not wait for a miracle to open the gates of heaven, but prefer to watch, wait ... and how much is expected in the life of Delphine, endless, slow, steady, brings with it even in the summer trip. But by dint of wait for that "something" that does not arrive, the anxiety and worry take over, and so Delphine, noting the huge gap that exists between you and the people know that from time to time, tosses itself from one city to another without finding peace. It almost seems to have lost hope, the world around her becomes progressively more gray and leaden, the saddest, the ability to stand still and wait for it now vanished, lost, gone. In its continuous and repetitive flights of fancy ideas, places and moods, seems to have become part of that group of people called ghosts, and beings that we are not there, who have lost hope and the spirit abbruttito. Whether in the countryside, mountains or on the shoreline, Delphine walks always absorbed in thought, in the nightmare of a life destined to isolation, incommunicableness and unhappiness. But coming back from one of those solitary walks, listening to a story, he hears a group of elders to discuss a book, The Green Ray, a heroine, a hero in waiting, yes, just like her. This woman is waiting for a special event, a ray, green, the last issued by the sun sunset and before the final that rarely shows itself. A sort of miracle short. Thus, the tight, dark, different, weird Delphine, surfacing on the skin feels a sensation that seemed gone: a warmth, a surge of vitality, a glimmer of hope. The trust, D. had lost confidence, faith that sooner or later that "something" would find it. But luckily that conversation stolen from those friendly old men has awakened, D. is there, fixed the setting sun, convinced that sooner or later that will be green.

I adore the way in which Rohmer said the abnormality of Delphine, the one that made her uneasy, distant, trimmed of things that every with heart desires - friendship, understanding, love, fun - and at the same time incapable, inept, maladjusted. There are many films that talk about lack of communication, I will always think of the "Monica" by Antonioni. I know, I mentioned a million times, but I can not do anything, embodied to perfection so that roam drifter, disoriented and constant soul, quell'infelicità and perpetual dissatisfaction. Or I jumped in the mind of Karina "Vivre Sa Vie", the Mastroianni of "8:30". With these similarities mean that "The green ray" of Rohmer approaches to these characters much beloved by me, the story of Delphine is as unusual as true, so sad how incredibly full of hope. Perfect
test Marie Rivière.
